Sophomores:
You will need to take the PRAXIS I test by the time you must submit your portfolio (your test scores are supposed to be included in your portfolio).
You can read an overview of it on the test website. Basically it is like the SAT, with math, reading, and writing/essay sections. The other thing to know about it is that you can take it as computer-based or paper-based. If you take the computer version, you do the test at your own pace within a 2 hour time frame for each section. You also get your scores faster and can schedule when you take it at your convenience (e.g. schedule during Fall Break at a test center near you). Links to a list of test sites for either version are found on the overview page.
The combined (i.e. all three sections are taken in one sitting) computer-based test is $130. The paper-based test has a registration fee of $50 (which the computer-based test does not) plus each section is $40 (total for paper-based= $170).
PLEASE NOTE THAT TEST DATES ARE NOT UP TO DATE WITH THE UPCOMING SCHOOL YEAR (this also is true for the PRAXIS II Music: Content Knowledge test the Seniors need to take).

They are learning how to ring hand bells, will be preparing music for performance, and may get to visit some carillon towers in Indiana (including the carillon tower on campus!).
